About Mac’s Guide Service

My turkey hunting stories originate in Cherokee, County AL trying to take the exact steps my dad walking in front of me took. Cautiously walking around in big hardwoods or a field edge. Stopping every so often trying to get a bird to gobble. Once one would respond, quickly but carefully he would find a tree big enough for us both to sit on and the game we loved began. I’ve never stopped playing that game. It has consumed my mind for the past 20 years and I hope for it to consume the next 20. In those 20 years that bird has taught me far more about life than the average person would ever think. A wild turkey is capable of making you achieve many emotions. He can make your heart race, leave you in frustration, and can also make you put everything else in life on hold. I have always felt like all of these lessons I have learned from a gobbler were meant for something more than just my personal success in the woods. For the past 6 years I have taken that knowledge and shared it with others in the field. I have a true passion for teaching and being a part of someone’s success story in the woods. Which is why I encourage you to come spend a few days in camp with us. The same lessons a southern gobbler a few very special people have taught me I have taken west and try to offer the best experience possible no matter your experience level. These hunts are something I take pride in. One rule I have always set forth was don’t sell a hunt I wouldn’t buy. It has taken years to find ground that I know everyone will hunt fresh birds, come home with a smile on their face and a story to tell along with a gobbler. Which is why I welcome you to come hunt with us.

Our Guides

A person in camouflage clothing kneels in a grassy area, holding a large wild turkey with a fan-shaped tail spread out, under a tree with lush green leaves.
A man with a beard wearing camouflage clothing, a tan cap, and sunglasses kneels in a green forested area with white wildflowers, holding a large wild turkey with iridescent feathers and a blue and red head.

All of our guides are seasoned turkey hunters. I have spent countless hours in the woods with each of these men and have seen them kill more than their fair share of hardheaded birds. No matter if you are a skilled turkey hunter or this is your first hunt, I have full confidence that your guide will do nothing except enhance your time in the field.
